Clarke, Daniel F. -- Dan passed away suddenly on August 18, 2012, in Grand Cayman. He will be sadly missed by his long time partner Jeannine Theriault of Bedford. Born August 27, 1496, in Amherst, he was predeceased by his parents, Dora (Gallant) and Fred Clarke; brothers, Donald and Robert. He is survived by siblings, Marje O'Neill, Sherman (Glenda), Doreen MacKenzie, Barb (Bob Culver) of Nova Scotia; Gordon, Lorraine Sanford, Garey, Gail, Donna of Omtario; David (Lynne) of United States; many nieces and nephews, in particular Marilyn Sanford. Besides his family and friends in Canada, Dan leaves behind many friends in Grande Cayman, in particular; Ruth, Moira, Billy, Sheena, Derek and his loyal employees. As much as Dan loved Nova Scotia, he equally loved the island. We will miss a true friend, his generosity, kindness, honesty and integrity. He was a special man and leaves a big void. Honouring Dan's wishes, creamation has taken place and there will be no formal service. At future dates, there will be private gatherings in Amherst, Bedford and Grand Cayman. Donations in his memory can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Halifax Herald September 8, 2012.
