MacDONALD, F. Leona - 86, Amherst, passed away Friday, August 25, 2006, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Oxford Junction, she was a daughter of the late Minor and Lena (Tait) Stone. She worked as a nurse at Highland View Regional Hospital until her retirement in 1985. She enjoyed gardening, auctions, traveling and spending time with her family. She had a passion for playing bridge and played in several marathons since her retirement. Leona is survived by daughters, Leona McCormick (Mel Gilroy), Amherst, and Wendy (Doug) Rhindress, Warren; sisters, Illa Mailman, Stellarton, and Olive Dill, Dartmouth; brother, Ken (Josephine) Stone, Riverview, N.B.; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexis; sons, Gary and Dwight; brother, Layton, and sister, Ethel. Recently Leona was cared for and included in the family of Dale, Susanne, Bronte and Ezra Corey of
Shinimicas. Cremation has taken place. Funerl service will be held on Tuesday, August 29, at 11 a.m. in Christ Church, Amherst with Archdeacon Glenn Eason officiating. Interment will take place in Amherst Cemetery. Donations in Leona's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
