Bruce Fitzpatrick (July 17, 1928 - August 31, 2012)
Fitzpatrick, Bruce Ivan, 84, of 92 Baker Drive in Dartmouth.  Born in Amherst he passed away peacefully at Dartmouth General Hospital on August 31, 2012. He will be greatly missed by Reta Margaret (nee Smith), his loving wife of 64 years and his three children, Douglas (Dana) Fitzpatrick, Ann (John Robidoux) Barrett and Ruth Buchanan.  He was a hero to his six grandchildren,  Deni,  Scott, Elizabeth, Angela, Katherine and Colin and took great pride in his eight great-grandchildren.   He was pre-deceased by his father and mother (Thomas and Hattie Fitzpatrick) and his two brothers Jack and Lawrence (Brownie). Bruce worked for forty years with Maritime Tel. & Tel. and after retirement he and Reta enjoyed 14 years wintering in Florida.  As well, many summers were spent at the family cottage in River Phillip in the company of children, grandchildren and many old and new friends. A service in celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at 2:00pm on
Thursday, September 6, 2012, Reverend James Haughn officiating.  Service, interment and reception will be held at Atlantic Funeral Homes,  (Dartmouth), 771 Main Street, Dartmouth.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
