Rodney M. Canning "Rod" 1940 - 2012
CANNING, RODNEY M. “Rod” – 72, of Parrsboro passed away Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax. Born on Glasgow Mountain, near Diligent River, he was a son of the late Herbert and Rebecca (Welton) Canning. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; a daughter, Sue Tupper (Douglas), Parrsboro; a son, Mark (Audrey), Vancouver, B.C.; a brother, Keith, Glasgow Mountain; sisters-in-law, Iona Canning, Five Islands; Bona Canning, Parrsboro; Daphne Noseworthy, Ontario; brother-in-law, Mac Horlick (Penny), Lawrencetown; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Althea, Dorothy; brothers, Kenneth, Murray, Earl. As per Rod’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation.
