OBITUARY: W.W. Bentley
Truro - William Wilkinson Bentley, a well-known Truro merchant, died in
Colchester Hospital, Truro yesterday after a brief illness. He was the son
of the late Captain and Mrs. George Bentley of Port Greville, Cumberland
County. Mr. Bentley was a veteran of the First World War and a member for
over 25 years of the Colchester Branch Number 26 of the Royal Canadian
Legion. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Church, Truro. Besides his
wife, he is survived by two sons, Firman, Sarnia, Ont.; and Douglas, Truro;
two brothers, Jack, Truro, and Seaman, Spartenburg, S.C.; four sisters, Hope
(Mrs. E.M. Ogilvie), Truro; ***Myrtle (Mrs. Patterson), Ashland, Mass.***;
Irma (Mrs. H. Murray), Spartenburg, S.C.; ***Anne (Mrs. H. Shaw), Campo,
Calif.***; and six grandchildren. The body is at Mattatall's Funeral Home,
Truro, from where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m., with
Rev. Heber Kean officiating. Interment in Robie Street Cemetery.
