Passes Away After Long Illness
Miss Mabel Bentley, 61, passed away late Saturday after an illness of nearly
35 years. During all that time, she was lovingly cared for by her
step-mother, Mrs. Iva [sic] Bentley, 22 Elm Street. For 25 years of her
illness, Miss Bentley had been bed-ridden and for the last six months has
been a patient at Mrs. MacKay's Nursing Home in Bible Hill. Miss Bentley was
a daughter of the late Captain George and Evelyn Marion Bentley. Besides her
step-mother, she is survived by three sisters, Mrs. J.A. Hendrikson, New
York; ***Mrs. Myrtle Morwick, Somerville, Mass.***; and Mrs. H.L. Shaw,
Manicowie, Wis.; three brothers, W.W. Bentley, 563 Prince Street; W.S.
Bentley, South Maitland; and E.R. Bentley, Saint John; two half-sisters,
Mrs. H.L. Murray, Woodhaven, N.Y.; and Mrs. E. McL. Ogilvie, 22 Elm Street;
and two-half brothers, S.B. Bentley, Toronto; and J.C. Bentley, 539 Prince
Street. The funeral service will be held from the home, 22 Elm Street,
Monday at 3:30 p.m.. Rev. A.J. Rowley, St. Andrew's United Church will be
conducting the service and interment will be in Robie Street Cemetery.
