OBITUARY - Earl Blenkhorn
Advocate - The death of Earl Blenkhorn occurred at Bay View Memorial
Hospital on Tuesday morning, December 1st. Born in Advocate Harbour, he was
the son of the late Edward and Olivia (Knowlton) Blenkhorn. He is survived
by his wife, the former Alma MacAleese, and one son, Corbett of Halifax.
Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Clara Lunn of Portland, Me. The late Mr.
Blenkhorn was a veteran of the First World War. Funeral arrangements have
not yet been completed.

"New Salem - Earl Blenkhorn was rushed to Advocate Hospital Monday morning
after suffering a heart attack at the home of Mrs. Enos Murphy, where he had
been boarding for a number of years. He passed away early Tuesday morning."

FUNERAL - Earl Blenkhorn
Advocate - The funeral for the late Earl Blenkhorn was held from the United
Church on Thursday afternoon, December 3rd. The service was conducted by the
pastor of the church, Robert MacDonald. Hymns sung by the church choir,
assisted by Mrs. Crofton Atkinson were: "Unto The Hills", "Beautiful Garden
Of Prayer" and "Abide With Me." The Pallbearers were: Douglas Smith, Crofton
Atkinson, Capt. J.C. Merriam, Willard Morris, Steve McLellan and Mitchell
Morris. The floral tributes were beautiful. The funeral was conducted by
Allison T. Smith, MLA, assisted by Boyde Yorke of Parrsboro. Interment was
in the cemetery at Advocate Harbour.

OBITUARY - Corbett Earl Blenkhorn
Funeral service for the late Corbett Earl Blenkhorn was held at the United
Church in Advocate on Monday, July 27, Mr. Blenkhorn passed away suddenly at
the age of 40 years.
A native of Advocate Harbour, he was the only son of the late Earl Blenkhorn
and Mrs. Alma Blenkhorn of Advocate. After serving in World War Two with the
RCAF, he has been employed in Halifax, where his death occurred. The funeral
was conducted by the Rev. Frank Roebuck. The choir sang the hymns:
"Beautiful Isle Of Somewhere", "Unto The Hills" and "Abide With Me". The
Pallbearers were: Elroy Morris, Darrell Bennett, Waldron Sanford, Foster
Morris, Glenford Murphy, Eldon DeWitt. The funeral was conducted by Ross
Smith of Parrsboro. Interment was in the family plot at Advocate.

ADVOCATE NOTES
"Much sympathy is extended to Mrs. Alma Blenkhorn in the passing of her only
son who died suddenly in Halifax on Friday, July 24th. He was an only child.
His burial took place in Advocate on Tuesday afternoon. He was buried
besides his father who passed away December 3, 1959."

Feel death was Friday, July 25 and burial was Monday, July 27 despite the
mention of "Tuesday" in the social notes.
