I don't think the following obituary has been posted before:
Jan. 20, 1986 Halifax Chronicle Herald:
EAST LEICESTER - Fred Everett (Ted) Lowther, 80, of East Leicester, Cumberland County, died Friday in East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Milford and Alice Lowther. He was employed as a farmer, lumberman and heavy equipment repair worker. He is survived by a son, Winston (Red) Edmonton, Alta.; three daughters, Gwen, Oakland, Ca.; Betty (Mrs. George Lacey), Truro; Marion (Mrs. Earl Thomas), East Leicester; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Muriel J. McElmon. The body is in the W. Allen Funeral Home, Oxford, where the funeral will be 3:30 p.m. today, Rev. Stephen Ainslie officiating. Spring burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Oxford. Memorial donations may be made to any charity.

EAST LEICESTER - Mrs. Fred E. (Ted) Lowther, 65, died Tuesday in East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash. Born in Little River she was the former Muriel J. McElmon a daughter of Russell and the late Jennie (Johnson) McElmon. Surviving besides her husband and father are three daughters, Gwen, Berkeley, Calif.; Betty (Mrs. George Lacey), Truro; Marion (Mrs. Earl Thomas), Schefferville, Que.; a son, Winston, Vancouver, B.C.; a sister, Mrs. Frances Black, Oxford; 11 grandchildren. The body is at the Allen Funeral Home, Oxford where funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m., Rev. Edgar Patriquin officiating. Committal will be in Pine Grove cemetery receiving vault, with burial in Pine Grove cemetery later in the spring.

LOWTHER, Gwendolyn Margaret (Gwen) - 69, died October 13, 1998, in Berkeley, Calif. Born June 10, 1929, in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Muriel Lowther (Leicester, Cumberland Co.). She was educated at Oxford High School and graduated from Mount Allison Ladies College, Sackville, N.B. She was formerly employed with East Bay Iceland in Berkeley. Surviving are brother, Winston R., Surrey, B.C.; sisters, Betty Lacey, Truro; Marion Thomas, Oxford; 21 nieces and nephews. Memorial service was held on October 16 in Chapel of the Chimes, Middle Chapel, Oakland, Calif. Cremation has taken place. Spring committal service in Pine Grove Cemetery in Oxford.
