I don't think the following obituary has been posted before:
Sept. 12, 1989 Halifax Chronicle Herald:
SHERIDAN, Mrs. Darlene (Letcher), RN - 62, Ottawa, formerly of Springhill, died Sept. 8 in Ottawa General Hospital. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of Willard Smith and the late Elnoral (Fraser) Smith. She was a graduate of Springhill High School; Horton Business Academy, Wolfville; Highland View Hospital School of Nursing, and Dalhousie University. She practiced nursing at Highland View Hospital and Ottawa General Hospital. She served with the Victorian Order of Nurses, Amherst, for several years and was a public health nurse in Cumberland County. She was a member of Springhill United Baptist Church and the Registered Nurse's Association. She is survived by her husband, Michael; a daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Jewkes, Springhill; three sons, Alexander, Mark, Philip, all of Ottawa; three grandchildren; three brothers, Noel, Glen, both of Springhill; Mackie (MacLean), Rodney, Cumberland County. She was predeceased by her first husband,
Russell Letcher. The body has been cremated. Memorial service will be held at a later date in Ottawa. Donations may be made to All Saints Hospital Building Fund, Springhill.
