Obit (1960) - Charles Clayton KNIGHT

I don't think the following obituary has been posted before:

April 21, 1960 Oxford Journal:
The death occurred suddenly after a lengthy illness of Charles Clayton Knight on Lower Main St., Oxford.  Mr. Knight was born on July 19th, 1882, at West Hansford, son of the late John and Amelia (Teed) Knight, where he spent the early part of his life, moving to Oxford in 1922, where he was an employee of the Oxford Woollen Mills.  He is survived by his wife and four children, Euda (Mrs. Edgar Chapman), Amherst; Etta (Mrs. John Maddison), Springhill; Elsie (Mrs. Stanley Cahill), Hamilton, Ont.; and John of Pictou.  He was predeceased by two children Jean and Harry.  Also surviving are one brother, Frank of Algerta (sic), and a sister, Margaret (Mrs. Robert Main), Moncton.  He was predeceased by five brothers and five sisters.  The funeral was held from the home on Sunday, April 17th, conducted by Rev. C. Moase.  Hymns sung by a united choir were "The Lord is My Shepherd" and "The Old Rugged Cross", favourites of the deceased.  Interment was in
the family plot of Pine Grove Cemetery, Oxford, directed by Frank Black and Son.  Pallbearers were three nephews, Aubrey Wood, Claude Wood and Harry Chase, Jr. and Minor Mattinson, Floyd Fraser and Raeburn McCunn.  Floral tributes were ...

BROOKDALE - Mrs. Clayton Knight, 87, formerly of Oxford, died Wednesday at home.  Born in Beckwith, she was the former Bessie M. Mattinson, a daughter of the late John W. and Cecilia (Hollis) Mattinson.  Surviving are three daughters, Euda (Mrs. Edgar Chapman), Brookdale; Etta (Mrs. J.W. Maddison), Springhill; Elsie (Mrs. Roy Owen), Hamilton, Ont.; a son, John S., Pictou; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Hollis, Springhill; a brother, Harley, Leicester.  She was predeceased by her husband, a son, Harry, two sisters and four brothers.  The body is in Allen's Funeral Home, Oxford, where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Rev. Maynard Rector officiating.  Burial will be in Oxford Pine Grove cemetery.
