KING, Howard Winston (Hap) - 68, Oxford, Cumberland Co., died December 6, 1995, in North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash. Born in Oxford, he was a son of the late C. Elmer and Charlotte L. (Lottie) (Shipley) King. He was a baptized member of the local Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, Oxford for the past 28 years. Prior to retirement, he was employed with Oxford Foundry and Machine Company Ltd. as a machinist for over 43 years, where he started his apprenticeship at age 15. For a number of years, he served as a member of Oxford Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, the former Gloria A. Mitchell; daughters, Valorie M., Carla-Sue, at home; son, Mitchell W. (Mitch) and wife Lois, Truro; granddaughter, Megan King, Truro; sister, Mrs. Greta King, Oxford; two nieces; two nephews; two grandnieces; three grandnephews; a number of cousins. He was predeceased by brothers, Avard, Leslie. Visitation today and tonight, funeral 2
p.m. Saturday, both in Allen's Funeral Home, Oxford, Ernest Wilkins officiating. Burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations to Parkinson's Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia division or Heart nad Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.

KING, Gloria Ann - 73, Oxford, Cumberland Co., passed away peacefully on Monday, October 11, 2004, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst, with her family by her side. Born in Port Howe, Cumberland Co., she was a daughter of the late George T. and Gretta M. (Field) Mitchell. She was a member of the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, Oxford, having been baptized on April 29, 1962. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was very artistic and enjoyed oil painting, pastel painting and tole painting. Surviving are son, Mitchell King (Lois), Truro, Colchester Co.; daughters, Valorie King and Carla-Sue King, both at home; granddaughter, Megan King, Truro; half-sisters, Donna Atkinson (Darrell), Barrie, Ont.; Anna Langille (Ross), Bible Hill, Colchester Co.; half-brother, Stevely Mitchell (Bonnie), Port Howe; stepsisters, Dorothy Moore, Oxford; Marie Hubley (Gerald), Saint John, N.B.; stepbrothers, Lawrence Wood,
Hansford, Cumberland Co.; Fred Dillman (Peggy), Meaghers Grant; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard W. "Hap" King, in 1995; sister, Llaina Moore, and twin brothers in infancy; stepfathers, George E. Wood and Frank C. Dillman; stepsister, Marion Pettigrew; stepbrother, Pearl Wood. Visitation will be this afternoon and this evening in Allen's Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford. Funeral service will be held in Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses, Medawell Street, Oxford, on Wednesday, October 13, at 2 p.m. with Mr. Harry Munroe officiating. Interment will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations may be made to the L.A. Animal Shelter, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society.
