Birth other was Emma Margaret Cormier.

Feel the Rolfe-Cormier marriage broke up and the children were fostered out.

OBITUARY: Percy W. Rolfe
Parrsboro - Percy W. Rolfe, 64, of Parrsboro and Oxford, died Tuesday in Oxford. Born in Diligent River, Cumberland County, he was a son of Mertes (Smith) Dow and the late James Rolfe. He was a retired lumberman. He is survived by his wife, the former Norma Hatfield; four daughters, Kathleen (Mrs. Earl Carter), Pointe de Bute, N.B.; Elizabeth, Amherst; Hilda (Mrs. Donald Rayworth), Maccan; and Mrs. Lillian Van Hafton, Toronto; three sons, Gill, Parrsboro; Bill; Maccan; and Joseph, Amherst; eight grandchildren. The body is in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro where funeral will be held today at 4 p.m., Rev. Eric Miner officiating. Burial will be in United Cemetery, Parrsboro.

Elizabeth Rolfe
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Elizabeth (Bettie) Mary Rolfe age 59 of Amherst on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Infirmary Site, Halifax NS, as a result of her injuries due to a pedestrian-vehicle accident.
Born in Fox River, NS, she was a daughter of Emma (Cormier) Rolfe of Amherst and the late Percy Rolfe.
Bettie worked at the Four Fathers Memorial Library in Amherst, repairing and replacing book-covers as well as running many different errands for over 36 years. She enjoyed traveling, bowling and baseball and taking her nephews to several sporting events. Bettie was an avid Elvis fan. She will always be remembered for her kind ways, gentle spirit and her great sense of humour.
Bettie will be sadly missed by her siblings, Kathleen (Earl) Carter of Point de Bute NB, Lillian (Greg) Gonnella of Woodstock NB, Hilda (Don) Rayworth of Springhill NS, William (Debbie) Rolfe of Maccan NS, Joe (Janet) Rolfe of Amherst, Gill Rolfe of Parrsboro NS, Vicki Bauer of Amherst; nephew, Andrew Bauer of Amherst, that Bettie was like a second mom to; as well as many special nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was predeceased by her foster parents, Fred and Beatrice (Gough) Carter; brothers, Richard and Norman in infancy and Alan Rolfe, her niece, Tammy Lynn Rolfe; as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) on Saturday, November 28, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Chapel with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bettie's memory may be made to the Bridge Workshop, Amherst or charity of your choice.

Springhill Highway Accident Kills Two Men, Injurers Another
Amherst - A single car highway accident early Thursday morning at Springhill Junction claimed the lives of two Parrsboro men and injured another. The vehicle traveling towards Springhill struck a concrete railing of the overhead bridge over the CNR and was completely demolished. Dead are Allan Rolfe, 17, and Evan Yorke, 19. The third occupant, also from Parrsboro, Ronald Thibodeau, 20, is a patient in Highland View Hospital here, where his condition is described as satisfactory. No decision has been announced on a possibly magisterial inquiry.
