OBITUARY
The death of Beatrice Adelia Carter of 24 Hill Street, Amherst, occurred at the Highland View
Regional Hospital on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 1989. She was 80. Born in Diligent River, N.S., she
was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Josey (Tower) Gough. She had worked at the Maritime
Pant Factory and part-time at Bendix. She was a member of the Miriam Rebekah Lodge and the
Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 10. She is survived by five daughters:
(Kathleen) Mrs. Earl Carter of Point de Bute, N.B., (Lillian) VanHaeften of Toronto, (Hilda)
Mrs. Don Rayworth of Maccan, Elizabeth Rolfe and Victoria Bauer both at home; one son William
Rolfe of Maccan; two sisters, (Georgie) Mrs. Fred Woodworth of Sackville, N.B., and (Mary) Mrs.
Arnold Wilson of Trenton, Ont., eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by her husband, Fred Carter; two sisters, Hazel McDonald and Violet Gough, a
brother, Jim Gough, and granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Rolfe. Her remains rested at Campbell's
Funeral Home, Amherst, where funeral service was held on Saturday, Nov. 11 with Rev. Byron
Corkum officiating. Burial was in the Amherst Cemetery.
