Obit (1949) - Mrs. Eva MacDOUGALL (nee Eva Gertrude KING_ )

I don't think the following obituary has been posted before:

Aug. 18, 1949 Oxford Journal:
The funeral of the late Mrs. Eva G. MacDougall, wife of Elisha B. MacDougall was held at her late residence on Friday, Aug. 12th, at 2:30 p.m.  Mrs. MacDougall passed away August 10th, following a long illness.  She was the daughter of the late George and Isabella (Mattinson) King and resided on Water Street during her entire lifetime.  She was born March 20, 1879.  The late Mrs. MacDougall was a member of Trinity United Church and Colfax Rebekah Lodge No. 7 and was active in both church and lodge until her health failed.  In her passing, Oxford has suffered the loss of an esteemed citizen.  She was married to Mr. MacDougall on Sept. 13, 1899, by whom she is survived.  Also surviving are two daughters, Constance at home and Edyth (Mrs. T.F. Brown) of Melrose, Mass., also a sister, Mrs. A. Elizabeth Harper of Keene, N.H., and two grandsons, Robert and Paul Brown.  Pall bearers were Maitland Wood, Bruce Walker, Edson Lowther, Ernest Bent, Leslie
Asbell and Fred King.  Burial took place in Pine Grove Cemetery.he floral tributes testified to the high esteem in which the departed was held by her many friends.  [I did not transcribe the list of tributes.  GFM]
