And here's her husband's obituary from the Dec. 27, 2004 Halifax Chronicle Herald (previously posted by Eric Keys):

MacLEOD, Wesley Laville - 88, Springhill, passed away on Friday December 24, 2004, in Amherst, after a prolonged period of declining health.  He will be remembered as a sweet, thoughtful and gentle husband, father and grandfather, and a kind and helpful friend.  Wes worked for 21 years in the payroll office of the Cumberland Coal Company, Springhill, until the closing of the mines in 1958.  He was employed for a short period of time in the office of Modern Construction, Halifax, after which he returned to Springhill to become the office manager of the newly opened Surrette Battery Company.  In 1964, he joined Canada Manpower and Unemployment Insurance as a counsellor, until his retirement in 1981.  In this position, he was known for the compassion and interest shown toward those seeking employment.  Wes believed in his hometown, Springhill, and worked diligently for its good.  He served six years as a municipal councillor and a term as deputy
mayor.  He was a past president of the Springhill elementary Home and School Association, taking interest in the education of his children and of the youth in his community.  He volunteered in many organizations, including the Cancer Society, Mental Health and the Truro Chapter of the Canadian Ostomy Association.  He was a Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow, an award presented to those who exemplify the Rotary motto of "service above self".  He was also a member and organist of the Masonic Lodge, Laurie No. 70, AF and AM.  Wes was blessed with many musical talents which he shared willingly to enrich the life of his community and his church.  He sang in his church choir from the age of 16 and served as choir director at both St. Andrew's United Church and St. Andrew's-Wesley United Church for many years.  In his younger years, he enjoyed Big Band music and directed his own orchestra, playing for dances at Mount Allison University and New Year's
broadcasts on CKCW Radio.  He enjoyed men's choral music, singing with and directing the sound of Cumberland Barbershop Chorus and performing with various men's quartets over the years.  His sweet solo renditions were a highlight of many musical events.  In his later years as master of ceremonies for the Travellers singing group, he delighted in bringing music to seniors' residences and nursing homes.  Wes' relationship with his family was of utmost importance to him.  He gave love and support to all, from the youngest to the eldest, and always encouraged the best.  Time spent at the cottage in Pugwash Point gave him many happy memories.  Wes was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife, Marion Elizabeth Keiver; grandson, Brian St. Peter.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.  He was predeceased by his parents, Willena and Samuel MacLeod; sisters, Mary, Flora, Rachel, Jessie, and Margaret; brothers, Malcolm, John
"Moonie", Alex, Hilson "Did", Edward, Murray, Donald, and infant brother Robert.  He is survived by his daughters, Valerie (Archie) St. Peter, Mary (Bruce) Osborne; sons, Robert (Linda) and Ralph (Cathy); grandchildren, Christopher, Leigh, Lynn, Timothy, Jennifer, Wesley, Robin; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Sara, Alex, Lauren, Jayme, Ainslee, Parker, and Olivia.  A memorial service to celebrate Wes' wonderful love of life and caring for others, will be held Tuesday, December 28, in St. Andrew's Wesley United Church, Main Street, Springhill, with visitation 1-2 p.m., service at 2 p.m. Rev. Danny Compton officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Wes' memory may be made to the Marion MacLeod Head Start Program, Springhill, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.  It is with sadness at our loss that we say goodbye to our father and grandfather.  We are grateful for his love and his enduring example in our lives.

Hope this helps someone,
Gerry
