Obit (1988) - Howard Avard JOHNSON

I don't think the following two obituaries have been posted before:

Sept 6, 1988 "The Daily Transcript" (Norwood, Mass.) (received from Phil Brides):
NORWOOD – A private service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 7, in the May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols St., Norwood, for Howard A. Johnson, 88, of Norwood, who died Sept. 3, in Amherst, Nova Scotia. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.  Born in Nova Scotia, Mr. Johnson had been a resident of Norwood for 63 years. He worked as an inspector for Bird and Son Flooring Division and was a member of the Orient Lodge A.F. and A.M. in Norwood.  He was the husband of Margaret J. (Forbes) Johnson and the father of Aviard S. Johnson and Donald L. Johnson, both of Norwood. He is survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Donations may be made to the Newton Lung Association.
[Aviard spelled as it appears in obituary]

Sept 8, 1988 "Chronicle Herald" (Halifax, NS)
JOHNSON, Howard Avard - 88, 19 Hill St., Norwood, Mass., died Saturday in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst.  Born in Little River, he was a son of the late Hiram and Mary (McCormick) Johnson.  He had been visiting at his summer cottage in Port Howe.  He is survived by his wife, the former M. Jesse Forbes; two sons, Avard and Donald, both of Norwood.  The body has been transferred to May Funeral Home, Norwood, where a family service will be held.

Hope this helps someone,
Gerry
