Obit (1971) - Hugh Talmage JEFFERS + Daisy Mae SMITH

I don't think the following two obituaries have been posted before:

July 2, 1971 Brantford Expositor (Ont.):
JEFFERS - At the Brantford General Hospital on Wednesday, June 30, 1971, Hugh Jeffers, in his 75th year; husband of the late Daisy Smith; father of Mrs. Dolores McNutt, Burford, and Mrs. Harry (Shirley) Grantham, Brantford; also survived by 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.  Mr. Jeffers was a member and former steward of Branch 543, Burford Legion.   Resting at the Beckett Funeral Home, 88 Brant Avenue, for service on Saturday at 2 p.m., with Rev. John MacCallum officiating.  Interment Mount Hope Cemetery.


May 22, 1962 Brantford Expositor (Ont.):

Mrs. Hugh T. Jeffers, 66, of 10 Toll Gate Road, died Sunday at the Brantford General Hospital.  The former Daisy Smith, she was born at Oxford, N.S., a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Chesley Smith, and was a resident of Brantford for 42 years.  She was an adherent of Queensway Baptist Church.  Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Dolores McNutt, of Brantford and Mrs. Shirley Grantham, of New Durham, Ont.; one brother, Robert Smith, of Hamilton; two sisters, Miss Margaret, of Oxford, N.S. and Mrs. Leslie O'Brien, of Thompsonville, Conn.; six grandchildren.  Mrs. Jeffers is at the Beckett Funeral Home for service Wednesday at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.  Rev. A. Aubrey Hunt will officiate.

Hugh Talmage Jeffers, 24, bachelor, iron moulder, res of Oxford, born Halifax, s/o James (b Parrsboro) & Mary Smith was married on  on Feb 3, 1921 in Amherst to Dasie Mae Smith, 25, tailoress, res of Oxford, born Oxford, d/o Chesley (birthplace not known) & Rhoda Mattinson.
