Re: Obit (1989) - James Edward Collins

Hi Carolyn:

Like you, I still have many unanswered relationships to still figure out in
this family. I was trying to compare notes to see if anyone else came to the
same conclusions.

Charles Edward Collins was previously married to Isobel ³Bella² Vance with
issue of a son, Kenneth Collins. I don¹t think Charles had a legal divorce
from Bella Vance to legally remarry Dorothy Spicer; thus some of Dorothy¹s
children are Spicer and some are Collins but believe Charles is the birth
father to all of them.

There were two ³Perry² Collins¹ deaths.

(A) Perry Collins, s/o Charles Collins and Dorothy Spicer:

Perhaps Evelyn Mae named one of her sons Perry after her brother who died in
infancy?

(B) Charles Edward Collins had a younger brother, John William ³Casey²
Collins Sr. Casey and his wife, Edwena McLellan had a son, John William
Collins Jr. The Perry Collins you mentioned was John William Collins Jr. and
his wife, Clara Bessie Hicks¹ son, Perry Jeffrey Collins:

nine-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Collins, Jr., Maccan, drowned
yesterday afternoon in the Maccan River. The coroner, Dr. Henry Meyers,
Amherst, said the boy apparently fell over a bank into the river on his way
home from swimming. Surviving besides his parents are paternal grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. John W. Collins, Sr., Maccan; four sisters, Carol, Mary, Jean
and Heather, all at home; and two brothers, Roy and Frank, also at home. The
body is at the home, Maccan. Funeral service will be held there Thursday at
2 p.m. Burial will be in the Maccan Cemetery.²
