In response to Dave Mitchell's note (below) here are the obituaries for the parents of Irvin Mitchell (Irvin Mitchell is the surviving husband of Sandra A. Taylor.

Nov. 3, 1986 Halifax Chronicle Herald:
VALLEY ROAD - George Stewart Irvin Mitchell, 77, Valley Road, Cumberland County, died Saturday in All Saints Hospital, Springhill.  Born in Linden, Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Amos and Sophronia (Darragh) Mitchell.  Most of his working years were spent as a carpenter in the coal mining and lumbering industries.  He worked as a coal miner for 10 years and several years as a woodsman.  He is survived by his wife, the former Bertha Y. Mills; two sons, Irvin, Oxford; Roy, Wawa, Ont.; a daughter, June (Mrs. Hilbert Wood), River Philip; two brothers, Arthur, Ontario, and Mayhew, Pugwash; a sister, Ada (Mrs. Ray Rushton) Valley Road; seven grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a brother Ira; four sisters, Alice, Aveline, Jean and Esther.  The body is in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, where funeral will be 2 p.m. today, Rev. Marilyn Carter officiating, assisted by Rev. James Martell.  Burial will be in Glenville Cemetery.  Donations
may be made to any charity.

July 21, 1998 Halifax Chronicle Herald:
MITCHELL, Bertha Yvonnie - 84, Shady Rest Home, Oxford, formerly of Valley Road, Cumberland Co., died July 20, 1998, in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst.  Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Elva (Brown) Mills.  She was an adherent of the United Church of Canada.  She enjoyed knitting, quilting and spending time with her family.  Surviving are sons, Irvin, Oxford; Roy Mills, Springhill; daughter, June (Mrs. Hilbert Wood), River Philip, Cumberland Co.; brothers, Donald, Amherst; Craig, Valley Road; sisters, Mrs. Pearl Warren, Valley Road; Emma (Mrs. Boyd McWilliams), Coleman, P.E.I.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, G. Stewart I. Mitchell; brother, Dean; sister, Vesta.  Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, both in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, Rev. Claudia Keller-Hatt officiating.  Burial in Glenville
Cemetery, Cumberland County.  Donations to any charity.

Anyone have an obit. for her husband Irvin Mitchell? I'm trying to connect his roots.

There was a Thomas Irvin Mitchell with son Irvin Reid Mitchell (b. 1898) in Amherst, which is Cumberland County, however I'm pretty sure this was a different family completely.

Wouldn't mind being shown otherwise!
