Obit (1984) - Victor David HUNTER

I don't think the following obituary has been posted before:

Nov. 20, 1984 Halifax Chronicle Herald:
SPRINGHILL - Victor David Hunter, 66, of 4 Clarke Street, Springhill, died on Sunday at home.  Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late Norman B. and Hannah (Henwood) Hunter.  He worked with Surrette Battery for 22 years, retiring in 1981.  He was a member of the Springhill Fire Department for the past 17 years, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #17, and a member of St. Andrew's Wesley United Church, Springhill.  Besides his wife, the former Winnifred Evelyn Davies, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Karen Reed, West Amherst; two sons, Douglas, Valley Road, Cumberland County; Blain, Prince George, B.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Smith, Parrsboro; Mrs. Margaret Ryan and Mrs. Martha Walsh, both of Springhill; two brothers, Hance, Springhill; William, Fenwick; and eight grandchildren.  He was predeceased by two infant sisters; a sister, Mary; four brothers, Fred, Frank, Martin, and Percy.  The body is in A.H. Brown Funeral Home,
Springhill, where funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. James Martell officiating, with burial in Rodney Cemetery, Cumberland County.
