Gladys Duguay DUGUAY, GLADYS "GLADY" - Gladys
"Glady" Duguay, 72 years of age, of Amherst, passed away peacefully at her
residence on Sunday, August 26, 2012 after a long courageous battle with
cancer. Born in Shemogue she was a daughter of the late Aurele & Adeline
Duguay. Glady owned and operated Bernick's Ladies Wear 1987 Ltd. for many
years. She enjoyed bowling, and was a member of the Coffee Girls Bowling Club.
Enjoyed playing cards and liked to read. A member of Holy Family Parish. An
avid dog lover. Glady will be sadly missed by her daughter, Adrienne Richard
Hartlin (James Small) of Dieppe, NB; sisters, Dianne Hebert of Port Elgin, NB,
Eleanor Leger (Paul) of Moncton; brother, Lloyd Duguay (Chris ) of Stoney
Plains AB ; special niece, Kim Doherty (Webster) of Waverley, NS, ; loving
companion Norman Cunningham of Eastern Passage, NS; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sisters, Alberta, Irene; brothers, Roy, Roger &
Bernie & an infant sister, Marie. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS. No visitation by request. A
memorial service will be held at the Holy Family Parish on Wednesday, August
29, 2012 at 10 am, Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. A time of fellowship to
follow in the church hall. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr.
Whitlock and his Oncology Staff at the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton and a special
thanks to the Cumberland V.O.N. and the Palliative Care. Should friends desire,
memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Dr.
George L. DuMont Hospital Oncology Department
