Nov. 19, 1990 Halifax Chronicle Herald:
HENWOOD, Alice Serena - 91, 41 Victoria St., Springhill, died Saturday in Harvey Community Hospital, Harvey Station, N.B. Born in Leamington, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late George H. and Serena L. (Gilroy) Hunter. She was a member of United Baptist Church, Springhill. She is survived by a son, George, Harvey Station; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-grandsons. She was predeceased by her husband, James Tolbert Henwood; a stepdaughter, Frances; four brothers, George W., Edward T., Victor W., Fred B.; four sisters, Nora, Fannie, Nettie, Lily; a sister in infancy. The body is in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, where funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Gordon Sutherland officiating. Burial will be in West Brook Cemetery, Cumberland County.

He is survived by his wife, the former Alice Hunter of Leamington, one son, George, Oromocto, N.B.; three brothers: Archie, West Brook; Clarence, Springhill; Liffie, N.B.

Adherent United Baptist Church; a member of the Loyal Orange Lodge #1611. He was a devoted husband and father and was very fond of domestic and wild animals. He was highly respected as a workman and his jolly disposition endeared him to one and all. Burial West Brook Cemetery.
3rd. Obituary undated: believe Parrsboro-Springhill Record {Highlights}
Springhill lost one of it's finest senior citizens in the passing of James Tolbert Henwood at his home on 41 Victoria Street on July 22, 1970 following a lengthy illness. Mr. Henwood was born in West Brook on January 16, 1888, the son of James G & Elizabeth {Skidmore} Henwood. Twice married and was predeceased by his first wife Ethel May Coote and their daughter Frances E Henwood Smith. On December 20, 1922 he took as his bride -- the former Alice S Hunter of Leamington, who survives to mourn his passing. Son George, Oromocto, N.B....also four grandchildren: Wallace & Carson Smith; Alfred & Janet Lee Henwood.
