Obit (1995) - Laurie Cecil HICKS

June 9, 1995 Halifax Chronicle Herald:
HICKS, Laurie Cecil - 60, Tidnish Bridge, died June 8, 1995, at home.  Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Harold and Adeline (LeBlanc) Hicks.  He was a general contractor and painter, and for many years he had been employed with K.P. Allen and General Home Systems.  He was a member of Nativity of Our Lady Parish.  Surviving are his wife, the former Doris (Chappell) Chapman; sons, Laurie Ross, Kevin, Amherst; daughter, Nancy (Mrs. Kenny Lockhart), Oxford; stepdaughters, Raylene (Mrs. Domenic Vendittelli), Terrace, B.C.; Cindy (Mrs. Harry Mummery), Marsha (Mrs. Blayne Hopkinson), Brighton, Ont.; stepsons, Randy Chapman, Vancouver; Douglas, at home; brother, Harold, Amherst; sisters, Shirley (Mrs. Doug Downey), Amherst; Juanita (Mrs. William Rowe), Fort Lawrence; Helen (Mrs. Richard MacDonald), Windsor, Ont.; five grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren.  Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 10 a.m. Saturday, both in Campbell's Funeral Home,
Amherst.  Burial to follow in Tidnish Bridge Cemetery.  Donations to any charity.
