OBITUARY: Mrs. Russell Hatfield
Westbrook, Jan. 9 - After a long period of ill health, Mrs. Russell Hatfield
passed away on January 6th at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harmon
Atkinson, West Brook. She was eighty-two years of age and was the former
Elizabeth Pratt, daughter of the late Capt. James Pratt and Mary Jean Pratt
of Five Islands. She is survived by one son, Blair, Granville Ferry, and one
daughter, Jean (Mrs. Atkinson of West Brook). Her husband and one daughter,
Adeline (Mrs. Wagstaff), predeceased her some years ago. The remains were
taken to her former home in Port Greville where the funeral was held from
the United Church on Friday at 3 p.m. Rev. D.S. McLeod was the officiating
minister. Burial was in the United Cemetery.

PORT GREVILE -- October 28 [1936]
The death of Adelaine, wife of George Wagstaff, a well known and highly
esteemed citizen of Port Greville, occurred at her home early Tuesday
morning after an illness of several months duration. She was the eldest
daughter of the late Russell Hatfield and Mrs. Hatfield, and was born here
42 years ago; the whole community will mourn her passing. Surviving besides
her husband are two daughters, Barbara, of the staff of C. E. Bentley and
Co. Ltd., Truro, Kathleen, attending High School at Amherst; and two sons,
Billy and Jack at home; also her mother; one sister, Mrs. Harmon Atkinson,
West Brook, and one brother, Blair at Granville Ferry. The funeral service
will be held in the United Church on Thursday, p.m. conducted by the pastor,
Rev. T. S. Crisp, with internment in the United Cemetery.
