I believe son, John "Jack" is Brenton not Monahan, from her m/1.

As there's no m/2 to Hugh Monahan Sr. in N.S. or N.B., perhaps there's a
divorce/separation here from John Matthew Brenton?

Virginia U. Monahan , 93, North Sydney
Virginia U. Monahan, 93, of Northside Guest Home, formerly of Sydney, died
Sunday, June 20, 1999, at the home. Born in Stewiacke, N.S., she was a
daughter of the late Douglas and Ada (Atkinson) Clark. She was a member of
St. Andrews United Church, Sydney. She is survived by three daughters,
Camilla Kaiser, Halifax, Shirley Pace, Sydney, and Marlene Cooke,
Charlottetown, PEI; two sons, Hugh Jr., Sydney, and John, Ontario; numerous
grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Georgie Clark, Halifax.
She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh in 1962; a daughter, Utah and son,
James. Funeral service will be held in Sydney Memorial Chapel on Monday at 3
p.m. with visitation prior to service. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial
Gardens.
