OBITUARY: Shirley MacAloney
There passed away suddenly on Monday, December 27, at the home of her
parents, little Shirley MacAloney, four month old baby of Mr. and Mrs. John
MacAloney, following an attack of pneumonia. Besides her parents, she leaves
a brother and sister, Elmer, 4, and Mabel, 2 years. The remains were taken
Monday evening to the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel E.
Pettigrew, West Brook, where the funeral service will be conducted by Rev.
Wm. MacDonald of Southampton.

MacALONEY, John L. - 83, Parrsboro, died March 5, 1996, in Colchester
Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late James
and Mabel (Rushton) MacAloney. He was a retired carpenter. Surviving are his
wife, the former Laurine Pettigrew; daughters, Mabel (Mrs. Thomas
Mapplebeck), Centreville; Mrs. Nellie Vaughn, Markham, Ont.; sons, Al,
Claremont, Ont.; David, Saskatchewan; sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Welton, Red
Lake, Ont.; Mrs. Betty Welton, Crossroads; Mrs. Ruth Logan, Parrsboro;
brothers, Ted, Parrsboro; Edward, Claremont, Ont.; Robert, Stouville, Ont.;
14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by ***daughter,
Shirley***; sister, Hildred; brothers, Clinton, Marshall, Vaughn, Arthur;
grandson, David. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Thursday, funeral 2 p.m. Friday, both
in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, Rev. Peter Smith officiating. Burial in
West Brook Cemetery. Donations to Bayview Memorial Health Centre, Advocate.
