OBITUARY: Mrs. Emma Atkinson
(Excerpts only of genealogical interest)

One of the best known eye, ear, nose and throat specialist in Northern
New York.

Lived at 425 Washington Street, New York.

He died 1 Oct 1928 at the age of 68.

She was born in Parrsboro, 10 May 1859; m/1 Martin Atkinson in 1884 at
Parrsboro.

He was a 1884 Graduate of New York University Medical School. Did post
graduate work in Berlin, London, Paris and Vienna while Emma remained in
Parrsboro with their sons.

Family moved to Halifax until 1900. Then moved to Mansfield, Ohio until
1911, moved to Watertown, New York.

Two sons;

Dr. J. Hedley Atkinson, born Parrsboro 1888, graduated McGill
University, Montreal in 1913. Established Atkinson Hospital at 168
Sterling Street.

Dr. Walter S. Atkinson, born Parrsboro 1891, graduated McGill
University, Montreal in 1914.

Dr. J. Hedley Atkinson's children; Mary Jane Atkinson (Mrs. John J.
Atkinson), Logan and John Hedley Atkinson, city.

Dr. Walter S. Atkinson's children; Jeanne G. Atkinson (Mrs. Peter H.
Remington, Arlington, Va. and Jack G. Atkinson and Gay G. Atkinson, both
of city.
