Gladys R. Cole
The death of Gladys Rowena Cole of 294 Duke Street, Saint John, occurred on
Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint
John on August 17, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Oreian and Cora G.
(Ferris) Cole.

Miss Cole graduated from Saint John High School and Modern Business School
and was employed as a Medical Secretary with the Department of Veteran's
Affairs for many years before her retirement.

She is survived by sister-in-law, Shirley Cole of Saint John, niece, Diane
Novaczek of Rothesay, nephews, Wayne Cole (Linda) of Ottawa, ON and Gerald
Cole (Kim) of Vancouver, BC, several great nieces and a great nephew. She
was predeceased by one brother, Douglas Cole.

By request there will be no visitation. A family graveside service will be
held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. Remembrances to the
Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or
the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated. Arrangements under
the direction of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row,
Saint John (634-7424).
COLE, DOUGLAS O. - of Elliott Row, died peacefully on September 27, 2004 at
the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in Saint John, NB and was the
son of the late Oreian and Cora (Ferris) Cole and husband of Shirley Cole.
He is survived by two sons Wayne Cole (Linda). Gerald Cole (Kim), one
daughter Diane Novaczek (John), one sister Gladys Cole and five
grandchildren; Emily, Katherine, Matthew, Sydney and Samantha. Douglas was
employed with G. E. Barbour and Company as a Salesman for 41 years, he was a
past member of the Knights of Pythias, a member of D.O.K.K., a member of
Germain Street Baptist Church and Simonds Lions Seniors Club. Resting at
A.W. Cavanagh Funeral Home, 91 Leinster Street (634-1712) with visitation on
Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm The funeral service will be held in
Cavanagh's Chapel on Thursday at 10:00 am followed by internment in Ocean
View Cemetery. Donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian
Cancer Society or charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the
