WEDDINGS: Turner - Atkinson
Westchester Station, June 3 - A marriage of much interest to relatives and
friends throughout the Maritimes, was performed at the First Baptist
Parsonage, Amherst, on Saturday, May 29, when the pastor, Rev. Loran K.
Baker, united in holy bonds of wedlock, John Turner, Westchester Station,
and Mrs. Margaret Atkinson, Belmont. On their return to Westchester they
were warmly greeted by a large number of well-wishers, who met them at the
arrival of the Scotian. On Monday evening a reception following a rousing
chivarari, was held at their home. The house was filled to overflowing with
friends, and many useful gifts were received by the happy couple. A lunch
was served, and after a few full chosen words of appreciation from Mr.
Turner for the lovely spirit of friendliness manifested throughout his
residence here, and the pleasant evening, the guests joined in singing
"Blest be the Tie that Binds". Mr. and Mrs. Turner leave here next week for
Belmont where they will reside.
