Obit: BEZZINA, Joseph R

Joseph R. Bezzina (April 8, 1946 - October 13, 2011)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph R. Bezzina
age 65 of Amherst announce his passing after a short but courageous
battle with cancer on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Cumberland Regional
Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Malta, he was a son of Lina Bezzina of Oakville, ON and the late
Joseph Bezzina. Joe had a passion for cars and motorsports and was a
pioneer in the RC boating industry. His attention to details and his
ability to fabricate anything that was made of metal was truly
phenomenal. Joe's entire career was in the auto body industry with his
last five years employed with Tantramar Chev Olds in Amherst. Joe was
truly an unselfish man who loved his family and always put them first.
He was a true friend to all who knew him and that friendship was
unconditional. He was known as Joe, Dad, Grampa and Papa to his family.
Joe was a wonderful devoted husband to Cecilia, a loving dad to his son
Lonney (Pamela) of Amherst, his two daughters Rosa (Colin) Wrobel of
Waterdown, ON and Teresa (Michael) Faubert of Riverglade, NB; a
dedicated grandfather to his four grandchildren Grace, Rebecca, Serena
and Noah, his three step grandsons Brian, Jeremy and Brandon. He was
also survived by his two sisters Mary (George) Parent of Millgrove, ON
and Margaret (Ken) Wright of Burlington, ON and two brothers Raymond
(Ellen) and Larry (Debbie) both of Burlington, ON and several nieces and
nephews. Besides his father, Joe was predeceased by a sister Monica
Bauman. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 11
a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. all in Campbell's Funeral
Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906). Deacon Howard Gotell will
officiate. Interment will take place in the St. Charles-Nativity,
Amherst. Family flowers only. Memorial donations in Joe's memory may be
made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice. Online
