OBITUARY
MRS. EMMA A. VARNER
CENTRAL ONSLOW - Mrs. Emma Amelia Varner, 92, Central Onlsow, died Monday in Glenview Lodge, Truro.
Born in Diligent River, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Annie (Kendrick) Dow.
She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Truro.
She is survived by a daughter, Florence (Mrs. John Thompson), Stewiacke; two sons, Bill and Everett, both of Bible Hill; a brother, Charles, Montreal; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Melanson and Mrs. Kathleen Gilroy, both of Amherst; Mrs. Flora Dow, Parrsboro; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Anson; a daughter, Udevilla; three brothers, Lawrence, Stewart and William; and a sister, Edith.
The body is in Mattatall's Funeral Home, Truro, where funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Canon Walter Harris officiating, with burial in Bible Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Onslow United Church or St. John's Anglican Church, Truro.

JOSEPH ANSON VARNER
TRURO - Joseph Anson Varner, 94, of Truro, died Friday at Hillcrest Manor, Truro. Born in New Germany, he was a son of Matthew and Udevilla (Beech) Varner.
He was a retired meat cutter and farmer.
He is survived by his wife, the former Emma Amelia Dow; two sons, William, College Road, Truro, and Everett, Bible Hill; a daughter, Florence (Mrs. Johnny Thompson), Pictou; three brothers, Fred, Dilligent River; Aseph, Lake Pleasant, and Powley, Halifax; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Feener, Lake Pleasant, and Eva (Mrs. Albert Dowden), Diligent River; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Udevilla; a brother, and several sisters.
The body is at Mattatall's Funeral Home, Truro, where funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m., Canon Walter Harris officiating. Spring burial will be in the Bible Hill Cemetery.
