MacDONALD, George William "Bill" passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2003 at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital in his 67th year. George, loving father of Robert and his wife Karen MacDonald of Newmarket and the late Janice and her husband Barry Neal of Oakville. Lifelong friend and companion of Hugh Hodgins of Collingwood. Dear brother of Jacqueline and her husband Jack Ferguson of Toronto, June and her husband Reg Alderson of Amherst, Nova Scotia and Marilyn, Jeanette and Cathy all of Nova Scotia. Bill will be forever cherished in the hearts of his 6 grandchildren as well as his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Roderick and parents George and Corrine MacDonald. A Celebration of Bill's Life took place on Sunday, November 2, 2003 from 2-4 pm with a reception following at the Fawcett Funeral Homes, Collingwood Chapel, 82 Pine Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Mr. MacDonald's memory. Cremation will take place with an interment to be held in Bill's hometown of Amherst, Nova Scotia in the spring.
