SHEFFIELD, Ardis Jean [née ATKINSON]

SHEFFIELD, Ardis Jean - 80, Wolfville, passed away Monday, September 11,
2006, in Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Apple River, she was a daughter
of the late George and Evelyn (Shirley) Atkinson. Ardis was a member of
New Minas United Church and past member of Aylesford and North Sydney
United Churches. She enjoyed volunteering with the U.C.W. at these
churches, as well as with the Canadian Cancer Society. Ardis enjoyed her
family very much, especially when they had family gatherings. She will
be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Surviving
are daughters, Marie (Glenn) MacDonald, Bridgewater; Barbara (Stephen)
Barry, Mississauga, Ont.; Colleen (Carl) Bent, Kentville; sons, David,
Halifax; John, Vancouver, B.C.; Paul, Vancouver, B.C.; grandchildren,
Jason Richards, Chris Richards, Paula Barry, Britt Moore, Maneka
Sheffield; great-granddaughter, McKyla Bell-Richards; sister, Carmen
(Ron) Oulton, San Diego, Calif.; brother, Ron, Brockv ille, Ont.; many
nieces and nephes. Ardis was predeceased by her husband, Merrill;
sisters, Ruby, Marguerite, Merdith, Muriel, and Ruth; brothers, Willis
and Shirley. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until time of funeral
service at 3 p.m., Saturday, September 16, in Advocate United Church,
Rev. Sandra Riddell officiating with burial in Advocate Harbour
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Funeral Arrangements are
under the care and direction of H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 5 Leverett
