Obit: MORRISSEY, John Lloyd "Jack"

MORRISSEY, JOHN (JACK) LLOYD - After a lengthy battle with Multiple
Sclerosis, John passed away peacefully on August 7, 2002. Husband of
Loretta (Bourque) Morrissey, son of John (Art) and Victoria (Elderkin)
Morrissey, born in Parrsboro N.S. July 19, 1940. He grew up in Shediac
N.B. and moved to Saint John in 1960 where he was employed with the
Irving Oil Refinery for 35 years until he began his battle with Multiple
Sclerosis. He was a member of St. Marks Parish and a true brother of the
Energy and Chemical union, Jack had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed
hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed painting. Surviving in
addition to his wife Loretta are one son, Floyd and his wife Lison of
Quispamsis; three daughters, Joyce and husband Armand Hebert also of
Quispamsis, Janice and husband Brian Whelton, and Katherine (Kathy) of
Saint John; 8 grandchildren; also his mother Victoria, brother Dennis
(Gail) Morrissey and sister Carol of Shediac. Besides his father, he was
predeceased by brother James Floyd (Betty) of Shediac. All will miss
Jack including his many in-laws from Scoudouc. Resting at CASTLE "King's
Chapel Funeral Home" 154 Old Hampton Rd, Rothesay (849-1702). A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark's Church, Quispamsis, 2
pm Saturday August 10, interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Visitation at "King's Chapel" on Thursday and Friday 2-4 &7-9 pm both
days. Memorial Donations to either the MS Society or NB Heart and Stroke
Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
