BLENKHORN, FLORENCE ORABELLE (SPICER) - On Thursday, October 27, 2005,
Florence Blenkhorn, wife of the late Laurie Ivon Blenkhorn, passed away
peacefully at home. Born in Spencer's Island, NS, she was the daughter
of the Late Sadie (Spicer) Haggerty. Florence was a long time member of
St. Augustine Church and was a member of the CN Pensioners Association.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed browsing for
treasures at flea markets and yard sales, and was the last surviving
member of her immediate family. Florence is survived by her six
children: Artimus (Annie) Cole of British Columbia, Paul (Muriel) Cole
of Quispamsis, Karl (Donna) Cole of Nova Scotia, Mary Blenkhorn of
Quispamsis, Brenda Fancy of Quispamsis, Brian Blenkhorn of Alberta, and
step-children Ardyth Otten of Ontario and Dennis Blenkhorn of British
Columbia. Florence will be sadly missed by her 12 grandchildren, 15
great-grandchildren, and by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Florence was predeceased by
granddaughter Nancy Anne Cole, brothers Daniel, Martin, Malcolm, and
sisters Alta, Ida, Christina, Jean, Laura, and Lucy. Resting at Castle
Funeral Home Kings Chapel, 154 Hampton Road, Rothesay (849-1701) with
visitation Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral
Service will be held at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, 239 Quispamsis
Road, Quispamsis on Monday, October 31, 2005 at 11 o'clock.. Interment
Holy Trinity Cemetery. Donations in memory of Florence to the Heart and
Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the Diabetes Association would be
appreciated.
