duplicate info in both obits below to place his wife / ex-wife as Pearl
Pettigrew, believed to be d/o Joseph Alonzo Pettigrew and Elizabeth Smith

OBITUARY:
Porter, Raymond A. "Ray" - 76, 46 Victoria St., Springhill, passed away
Tuesday, May 22, 2001 in All Saint's Hospital, Springhill. Born in
Springhill, he was a son of the late Victor and Fauline "Dolly" (Sterling)
Porter. He served in France during the Second World War with Company B
(Queens Own Rifles) worked in the coal mines in Springhill and Cape Breton
and 19 years with the Federal Civil Service in the Dockyards. He was a past
member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 17, Springhill. He enjoyed
bowling and family. He is survived by sons, David (Christina) Porter,
Georgia, United States; Randy (Peggy) Porter, Sackville; Ricky (Katherine)
Porter, Alberta; daughters, Judy (Ken) Webb, Toronto; Helen Porter,
Dartmouth; Trish Porter and companion, Rod Brown, Springhill; Angel (Colin)
Cotton, Athol, Cumberland Co.; Cindy Porter and companion, Hamen Summerton,
Halifax; sister, Mrs. Helen Hopkins, Sackville, N.B.; 23 grandchildren;
numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Frederick, Victor, Sterling,
Hollis and Randolph. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Today in A.H. Brown
Funeral Home, Springhill, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday,
May 25, Pastor, Ivan Blakney officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery,
Springhill. Donations to the Lung Association or Canadian Diabetes
Association would be greatly appreciated.

PORTER, Helen Fauline - 61, Sunrise Manor, St Vincent's Nursing Home,
Halifax, passed away on August 31, 2011. Born in Springhill she was a
daughter of Pearl Pettigrew and the late Ray Porter. Special thanks to the
2nd floor nursing staff of St Vincent's Nursing Home; special thanks also to
Doris for her love and support. Helen is survived by her companion, George
Arthur; daughters, Kerry, Zita, Louisiana; sisters, Trish (Jim), Ontario;
Angela (Donald ), Springhill; Cindy (Namen), Halifax; brothers, David
(Chris), Georgia; Randy (Peggy), Halifax; Ricky, Ontario; grandchildren,
Candice, April, Janessa; nieces and nephews. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm
Saturday, September 3, in T K Barnard Funeral Home, 3460 Dutch Village Rd.,
Halifax. Burial will take place at a later date in Springhill. On-line
