Obit: PAL, Irene Giselle [née FOTYI]

Irene Giselle Pal (February 21, 1922 - September 29, 2011)
With deep sadness the family announces the passing of our mom, Mrs.
Irene Pal (Fotyi) on Thursday, September 29th, 2011 at the age of 89 at
North Cumberland Memorial Hospital in Pugwash, Nova Scotia. Irene was
predeceased by her husband Bela (1992), 3 sisters and 2 brothers in
Hungary. She will be sadly missed by her son Joe, daughters Irene (Andy
Williams) and Judy (Bob Ketchabaw) and her brother Joseph (Magda) Fotyi
& Debbie (Toronto) as well as her grandchildren: Giselle (Riley)
Williams, , Jeremy (Vanessa) Williams, Michelle (John) Ketchabaw,
Michael Ketchabaw, Joe Pal (Jr.), Katie Pal, Marcy Keiver (great
grandchildren), Nathan and Kelsey Keiver. Irene was a kind and loving
mom, grandma, and great grandma. She was very talented in many ways and
was known for her generous spirit. She loved to spend time with her
grandchildren and was thrilled to be here to see her great
grandchildren. She dearly loved her sisters and brothers in Hungary and
Toronto. She especially had a kind heart towards her pets and all the
farm animals that she cared for. Irene found great joy in crocheting
doilies, afghans and baby blankets and was always looking for new
patterns to try. She was born in Budapest, Hungary and then lived in
Paris, France before coming to Canada. She lived with her family in
Ontario until 1969 and then moved to Nova Scotia. Following Irene's
wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and supervision of
Mundle's Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash (243-2506). There was no
visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Donations in remembrance of Irene can be made to the Lung Association.
Rest in peace mom. Private condolences may be sent to the family by
