Here is the obituary for Verna Margaret Whitewood (sister of Edna V. Blockley).

WHITEWOOD, Verna Margaret - 80, Cranbrook, B.C., formerly of Framingham, Mass., and Springhill, died Monday, April 19, 1999, in Cranbrook Regional Hospital, Cranbrook. Born in Leamington, Cumberland Co., she was a daughter of the late John William and Bessie M. (Simmonds) Blockley. During her early years in Springhill, she was involved in the Miller Corner United Church and was superintendent of the Sunday school for many years. In 1960, she moved to Framingham, Mass., where she was employed with Zayre's Department Store, later moving to Cranbrook during the spring of 1978. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters, the senior citizens, the Melodears, member of a square dancing group and the Atlantic Social Club. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and especially her flower beds, camping and her once a year fishing trip. Surviving are son, Murray and wife Nancy, Cranbrook; daughter, Greta and husband James Blair, Castlegar, B.C.; grandchildren,
Elizabeth (Darren), Stanley (Chesley), James, David, Peter (Carmen), Coleen (Bradley) and by 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley; sisters, Edna Whitewood, Jeanette "Nettie" Davis and a sister in infancy; brothers, Edward, Harold, Joseph William and Robert Murray. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, from A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, with Rev. Elroy McKillop officiating. Burial in Leamington Cemetery, Cumberland County. Donations to any charity would be appreciated.
