Obit: RILEY, Bill Jr

RILEY, BILL JR. - It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we
the family announce the passing of Bill Riley Jr., 35, of Riverview, NB,
and formerly of Amherst on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the Moncton
City Hospital with his loving family and friends by his side. Little
Bill was born on March 24, 1976 in Amherst; he was a son of James
William Riley and Joanne (Gibson) Riley. Little Bill was an avid
sportsman and played for the Amherst Ramblers Jr. A in 1994, where he
received the Rookie of the Year Award. Later he joined the renamed
Amherst Mooseheads and then transferred to the East Hants Penguins,
where he played for several seasons. He was an employee with the
Correctional Services of Canada at the Springhill Institution. In his
spare time, Little Bill loved to play the guitar, and also enjoyed
fishing and clamming. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by
his parents; sisters, Carla Riley and Tracey Riley; his two sons, Jesse
and Dustin; girlfriend, Monica; step-daughter, Emma; paternal
grandparents, Jim and Gladys Riley; as well as several uncles, aunts,
nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation has taken place under the care
and direction of Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst (667-9906). There will
be no visitation. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 2,
2011 at 4:00 p.m. from First Baptist Church, Amherst with Rev. Donald
Miller officiating. A time of refreshments and fellowship will follow in
the church vestry. In lieu of flowers, donations in Little Bill's memory
may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer
