Maybe; they did have a son, Shirley Atkinson plus 10 other children so one
would have to track him down for a comparison (birth date and death date).
I met a Spicer researcher in the Archives on Monday and he¹s also puzzled
over who this Kenneth Shirley Spicer is.
William Burton Atkinson and Martha Ann Copp COULD BE Kenneth Shirley
Atkinson¹s grandparents IF he was born illegitimate and raised by his
grandparents as a son, not a grandson?
Requires some more research for sure.

BEARDSLEY, Ruth Arabella - 66, River Hebert, died September 15, 1995, in
Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Advocate, she was a
daughter of the late George and Evelyn (Shirley) Atkinson. She was a member
of Amherst and Brookside Curling clubs and the UCW of Trinity United Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy (Mrs. Alan Smith), Dartmouth; sons, Larry,
Maccan; Robert,
River Hebert; sisters, Ardis Sheffield, Aylesford; Carman Oulton, LeMesa,
Calif.; Muriel Fette, Bokeelia, Fla.; Meredith Crossman, Brockville, Ont.;
brothers, Willis, Brockville; Ronald, Toronto; four grandchildren. She was
predeceased by her husband, Freeman; sisters, Marguerite Canning, Ruby
Trerise; ***brother, Shirley***. Funeral 2 p.m. today in Trinity United
Church, River Hebert,
Rev. Danny Compton and Rev. Bob Mack officiating. Burial to follow in

Orlando, Fla. Born in Apple River, Cumberland Co., she was a daughter of

Maternity Hospital, Halifax, and did nursing in Nova Scotia and Ontario.
Surviving are her husband, John, Orlando; sister, Ardis (Mrs. Merrill
Sheffield), New Minas; Carmen (Mrs. Ray Oulton), Los Angeles; brothers,
Ronald, Toronto; Willis, Brockville, Ont.; several nieces and nephews. She
was predeceased by sister, Marguerite (Mrs. Kenneth Canning), Meredith (Mrs.
Frederick Crossman), Ruby (Mrs. Edward Trerise), Ruth (Mrs. Freeman
Beardsley); ***brother, Shirley***. Cremation has taken place. Burial at a
later date.
