OBITUARY - Alvord Slack
Londonderry Station - Alvord Slack, 85, Londonderry Station, died Tuesday at
the Even Glow Rest Home, Truro. Born in Folly Lake, he was a son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Slack. He had been a resident of Londonderry Station for
the past 20 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Emma Atkinson;
three sons, Willie, Toronto; Louis, Glasgow, Scotland; and ***Morton, Minto,
N.B.***; one daughter, Margaret (Mrs. Eugene Barnes), P.E.I.. The body is at
the McCulloch and Patriquin Funeral Home, Great Village. The funeral service
will be from the Londonderry Station Community Church Thursday at 2 p.m.
with Rev. R. B. MacCaull officiating. Interment will be in the Folly
Mountain Cemetery.

Mrs. A. Emma Slack
Londonderry Station - Mrs. A. Emma Slack, 75, of Londonderry Station, died
Tuesday at her home. Born in Apple River, Cumberland County, she was a
daughter of the late William and Martha (Copp) Atkinson. She had been a
resident of Londonderry Station for the past 30 years. She was a member of
the United Church and a member of Acadian Rebekah Lodge. She is survived by
a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Barnes, Charlottetown; three sons, ***Morton,
Minto, N.B.***; Wylie, Toronto; Lewis, Glasgow, Scotland; three sisters, Ida
(Mrs. Sylvester Dalton, Saint John; Bernice (Mrs. George Morgan), Browns
Flats, N.B.; Mrs. Millie Spicer, Parrsboro; a brother, Willard, Advocate, 17
grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She
was predeceased by her husband, Albert. The body is in the McCulloch and
Patriquin Funeral home, Great Village. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m.
in the Community Church, Londonderry Station, Rev. Lloyd P. Burrows
officiating. Burial will be in Folly Mountain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Londonderry
station Community Church.

Note: Albert is a typo for Alvord/Alvard; Morton would be her step-son.
Avord/Alvard's m/1, Ella Maude Cove didn't die until 8 Nov 1922 - Morton was
born about 1920.

Margaret (Slack) Donkin was Avord/Alvard's sister who raised Ellas A. Slack
after his mother died in 1922. Ellas reportedly died in a motorcycle
accident in England.
