GUTHRO, Margaret Eleanor - 76, Elgin Street, Springhill, passed away on
Wednesday, July 11, 2007, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre,
Nappan. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Alpheus and
Jean (Hawker) Pyke. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, her family, and
especially her grandchildren. She is survived by son, Gerald "Gerry"
(Nan) Guthro, Moncton, N.B.; daughter, Linda Bourgeois, Saint John,
N.B.; brother, James "Buddy" (Evelyn) Pyke, Moncton, N.B.; half-brother,
Greg Pyke, Truro; half-sister, Karen (Laurie) Wood, Springhill Junction;
grandchildren, Tracy (Rob) Harrison, Springhill; James (Beverly) Fenton,
Amherst; Gerry Guthro Jr., Moncton, N.B.; great-granddaughter, Tori
Harrison; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her
husband, Hugh Gerald Guthro; daughter, Brenda in infancy; half-sister,
Betty Pyke. Cremation has taken place. A memorial funeral service will
be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 1 4, in A.H. Brown Funeral Home,
Springhill, with Rev. Scott Balser officiating. Burial in Hillside
Cemetery, Springhill. If so desired, donations to a charity of choice
would be appreciated.

PYKE, Betty - 55, Amherst, died December 30, 2006. Born in Springhill,
she was a daughter of the late Alpheus and Thelma (Meekins) Pyke. Missed
by husband, Bruce Hicks; son, Charles Weatherbee; daughters, Lianna
(William) Gouchie, Monica Weatherbee; grandchildren, Tristan, Devan,
Nicole, and Kursten; sisters, Karen (Laurie) Wood and Margie Guthro;
brothers, Gregory (Debbie) Pyke and James "Buddy" (Evelyn) Pyke; several
nieces and nephews. Arrangements entrusted to Furlong ~ Jones Funeral
Home, Amherst, (667-8777). Visitation Wednesday, 7-9 p.m. in All Saints
Church, Springhill, where memorial service will be on January 4, 11 a.m.
