Edward P. Stonehouse, 84, Venice, died May 13, 2005.
He was born Aug. 26, 1920, in Nova Scotia, and came to Venice 15 years
ago from New Jersey. He retired as the Northeast regional director of
Conrail and was a member of the Elks Lodge in Englewood. He was a
Lutheran. Survivors include sons Phillip of Seattle, David of Mount
Bethel, Pa., and Mark of Seattle; daughters Rita Stonehouse of
Lyndhurst, N.J., Joanne Stonehouse of West Shokan, N.Y., and Lori
Alexis of Lyndhurst, N.J.; a brother, Otis of Worcester, Mass.; his
companion, Dorothy Gelston; and six grandchildren. Memorial services
will be announced later. Ewing Funeral Home is in charge.

AUBURN - Eva L. (Stonehouse) Leyden Lee, of Auburn, died yesterday at
home after an illness. Her first husband, Francis J. Leyden, died in
1969. Her husband, Robert E. Lee, died in 1981. She leaves two sons,
Robert F. Leyden of Auburn and Richard W. Leyden of Worcester; four
stepchildren; two brothers, Otis Stonehouse of Worcester and Edward
Stonehouse of Venice, Fla.; two granddaughters; and 12 step-
grandchildren. Born in Nova Scotia, daughter of Ivan and Julia
(Sarson) Stonehouse, she lived here since 1948 and previously lived in
New Hampshire. She graduated from a high school in New Hampshire and
attended a secretarial school in New York City. Mrs. Lee once worked
at Reed & Prince Co. and at New England Telephone Co., both in
Worcester. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow in
Hadwen Park Congregational Church, 6 Clover St., Worcester. Burial
will be in Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 tonight at
Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 7
Oak St., Worcester 01609; or to Hospice of Central Massachusetts, 120
Thomas St., Worcester 01608.
