TWO VIOLENT DEATHS OCCUR IN CUMB. COUNTY AREA
"""""""""""Found Dead""""""""""""""""
With a .22 calibre rifle lying beside him, John Fowler, 43, was found dead
in bed at his Tyndale Road home Saturday night. An inquest was ordered for
Friday at 8 p.m. at the County Court House by Coroner, Dr. H.A. Myer.
Fowler, who operated a small farm alone, was found about 10:20 in the
evening by Mrs. Annie Mills who notified police. He had lived there for
about 20 years. A complete autopsy Sunday night by Dr. W.O. Coates showed a
puncture wound immediately above the inner end of the right eyebrow. A 3/4
inch area around the wound was marked with powder burns and the skull was
fractured. X-rays showed a .22 calibre bullet in the brain at the left side.
The man's stomach was empty, Dr. Coates reported. He is survived by his
parents and 11 brothers and sisters. Funeral service will be held from
Furlong's Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
