Joyce Madeline Furlong

Joyce Furlong of Moncton passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital with her family by her side on Saturday, September 9, 2011. Joyce was employed with K. E. Spencer Memorial Home as a cook for 18 years. She loved her home, garden and cooking and caring for her family. Born in Lorneville, NS, daughter of the late Joseph and May (Jackson) Greeno. She will be sadly missed by two sons; Garth (Josée Bouchard) of Scoudouc, Kevin (Cathy) of Moncton and two daughters, Elaine (Larry) Peacock of Langley, BC and Roberta (Peter) Lynch of Utah. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; Alissa, Sarah (Peacock), Logan, Ian, Anna (Furlong), Mikey (Furlong) Dominique and Marie-France (Bouchard) as well as one great grand daughter Aisha (Rwanyagatare), several nieces and nephews. Joyce was the last surviving member of 12 siblings. Besides her parents and siblings, Joyce was predeceased by her husband Elwyn (2009) after 60 years of marriage. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm followed by a reception in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment will be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Friends of the Moncton Hospital would be appreciated. A special thanks to Dr. Stoddard, nurses and all staff of 4600.
