I shared this with a few researchers years ago but they were never posted.

OBITUARY - Mrs. James McCabe
Jane, relict of the late James McCabe, passed from earth to the better land
on the 8th inst at the advanced age of 82 years. Her going, from the home of
her daughter, Mrs. G.N. Ferrand, with whom she had resided for the past
nineteen years, was like falling asleep wearied with the long and exacting
way of life.
Of her piety and proclival godliness, none ever doubted. She was one of the
children of the late Charles and Charlotte Roberts. Her father was a London
cockney and a successful school teacher; her mother, a Morris from Advocate
Harbour. In early life she became the wife of James McCabe, a native of
Pictou, who was an outstanding teacher in the public schools of his day. He
was regarded as one of the ablest mathematicians of his time. There came to
her as the fruit of this union four sons and three daughters; all are living
and attended the funeral of their devoted mother. The death of her husband,
while the eldest was 15 and the youngest, one year, left the mother with
material resources almost nil to face the task of care and culture of so
large a family, from which a less he role spirit would surely have faltered
and failed. Her interpretation of life found expressions in deeds rather
than in words. So wisely and well did she guide and guard the interests of
the home, that she had a mother's joy of seeing all her children making
good, who in turn, "rise up and call her blessed".
She may or may not have been a member of the church, but never a doubt as to
her membership in the Kingdom of God. The Class Meeting of the old days, was
always to her a source of spiritual enrichment while her clear testimony
ever inspired faith and confidence in others. Never a cry of need but
challenged her sympathy and enlisted her practical aid. In the home of the
sick and suffering, she was ever found exercising a comforting and helpful
ministry. From such a life no need to ask as to readiness for departure; she
was ready. Mercifully cured from protracted illness and intense suffering in
the dawn of opening day, as a tired child might long for the enfolding arms
of a loving mother, Mrs. McCabe said to her daughter, "I believe I an dying"
and looking upward murmured, "Oh God" and with out struggle or sigh,
languished unto life.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. A.S. Regere; Rev. J.E. Donkin and Wm.
Brown were also present. Bro. Donkin gave a timely and helpful address. Six
grandsons gently bore the flower covered casket from the house to the grave
at Highland Cemetery.
She leaves to cherish the memory of a wise and faithful mother four sons,
Herbert of St. Stephen, N.B.; Clarence and Fred of River Phillip and Arthur
of Amherst. The daughters are Charlotte, wife of Rev. Alban Daniel of
Parrsboro; Ella (Mrs. Reynolds) of Maine, and Maud, wife of G.N. Ferrand of
Amherst; Also 38 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

(I didn't copy the family floral tributes)

Funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs. Brown and Hamilton.
