He then directed us to a house on the next street. As soon as I mentioned my name to the lady who answered the door, we were invited in and spent the next couple of hours or so sharing family stories and photos. Her husband was Bill's nephew. What a find. On the way out of town we stopped by the house where gram and Bill used to live. The owner allowed us to take some pictures.

By this union there were eight children, four of whom predeceased her: Harold and Harry Embree who were killed in the No. 2 mine "Bump" of 1958; Raymond Embree and June (Mrs. Hazen Bowden). On September 6, 1938 her husband passed away. Six years later, in 1944, she married William White of Pugwash, N. S., and in that community they made their home for ten years. Mrs. White returned to Springhill after the death of her second husband. She was an active member of the United Baptist Church, as well as devoting time to the Rebekah Lodge and the W.I.N.S., both of Pugwash.
