John Lloyd Vincent Barton 1949-2011
John Lloyd Vincent Barton, 61, of Sackville died suddenly in his home on
Thursday, January 20, 2011. Born in Springhill, John was a son of the
late Joseph and Jewels (Rushton) Barton. John was well known for his
musical skills as a drummer in the band Nite Shift. He worked for The
Town Of Sackville for sixteen years. In 1988 John married Monique
Lorette and greatly enjoyed their time together until her passing in
2009. He was a loving grandfather and a big fan of hockey and watching
CNN. He will be sadly missed by his son Johnnie (Jennifer) of
Riverview; step-son, David (Lisa) Estabrooks of Sackville; a brother,
Jim (James LeBlanc) of Moncton; a sister, Joanne Furlong of Edmonton;
seven grandchildren, Alyshea, Brianne, Riley, Charles, Blair, Paige, and
Abby. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his loving wife of
twenty years, Monique Lorette and a step-father, Warren Bennett. John's
remains have been cremated under the care and supervision of Jones
Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300). Visitation will
be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 12 pm
until the time of the funeral at 2 pm. Pastor Hugh Davidson officiating.
Donations in John's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

BENNETT, Jewell Mae - 75, Milton, Ont., died May 27, 1998, in Milton
District Hospital. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd
and Minnie (Gorvette) Rushton. Surviving are her husband, Warren
Bennett; daughter, Joanne Furlong, Edmonton; sons, John Barton,
Sackville, N.B.; James Barton, Milton, Ont.; stepdaughters, Marie (Mrs.
Bill Harding), Burlington, Ont.; Carroll Bennett, Mississauga, Ont.;
sisters, Phyllis (Mrs. Clyde Dickson), Lois (Mrs. Rod Chell), Amherst;
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by
her first husband, Joseph Barton; brother, Jack. Visitation 2-4, 7-9
p.m. Sunday in Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral 11 a.m. Monday
in Cumberland Memorial Chapel, Amherst, Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
Burial to follow in St. John's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Springhill.
