Tracey & John et al
"Married Ann (1745-1843). Six children were born in England; two died
before the family left Yorkshire. William was a farmer and immigrated
"on account of their rents being raised". They sailed from Port of Hull
on the vessel "TWO FRIENDS" departing the week February 28, 1774. Voyage
took nine weeks arriving 7 Mar1774 (this date must be wrong, 9 weeks
would be the 1st week of May) at Halifax, Nova Scotia.(Note Historians
state "Children from 1-7 rarely survived the journey"). The family "went
by way of Windsor and Parrsboro to Lower Maccan
(an area on the Maccan River near old Fort Cumberland) and there they
had six more children". Source: Nova Scotia Historical Society 1909 Vol
LXIII pg.29."
