Re: Fwd: [nscumber] Re: Harold Thomas Blenkhorn

Hi John,

>From what I fathom, all descendants are from the union of William Blenkhorn and Olivia Ann Dresser.  They were with the Yorkshire immigrants on the ship Two Friends from Hull, Yorkshire, England.  There were those who stayed on the Cumberland Shore and those who went across the Bay to the Kings County Shore.  My great-grandmother was Leah Zebudah Blenkhorn, a greatx3 granddaughter of William and Olivia.

As for what is online, I don't believe there is much information other than the standard stuff on Rootsweb or what you pay for on Ancestry.

Hope this helps.
Tracey

Hi Tracey,

Thanks for this observation. I wonder if there is an
established common ancestor for the related BLENKHORN families
in Nova Scotia, published online somewhere?

The situation reminds me somewhat of the MOSER name (which
later morphed to MOSHER for some families) stemming from
Lunenburg County. It is sometimes assumed that all the people
from Lunenburg County who originally had the name MOSER must
be related. Although this is quite likely, to the best of my
knowledge there is no published proof (on-line or off-line) of
this.
